Leah Hamilton, this year’s scholarship recipient and Director of College Counseling, Kelly Hawse
The Jeffrey D. Ralston Memorial Scholarship was awarded again this year to a member of an outstanding graduating class. Jeff’s mother Rita Ralston and sister Stephanie Ralston Khurana are honored to present the Ralston Scholarship each year at this annual award ceremony. This year’s recipient is a very worthy and deserving St. Mary’s graduate who demonstrates strong character, service to others and leadership. Leah Hamilton is this year’s recipient.
Leah exhibits the scholarship’s required qualities and more. Academically, she is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. She is a Parvis scholar and has won the Deacon Moore Scholarship. As a member of the St. Isadore Computer Science Program, she was a selected intern at the US Naval Academy Cyber Security program.
An athlete, Leah played on the Varsity Track and Field, Lacross and Soccer teams, and earned the Girls Soccer Coaches’ Award for 2025.
She is hard working, kind, generous and committed to helping others, mentoring her classmates and volunteering in community initiatives, whether that is visiting with members of a senior living home, bringing them cookies, or just making sure everyone felt valued and included wherever she found herself. As stated on her application, she wished that her actions through high school would leave a great and positive impact. She has reached this goal. As noted by one of her references, “We need more young adults like Leah Hamilton.” We agree. The Ralston family couldn’t be more pleased and honored to present this year’s $1000 Jeffrey Ralston Scholarship award to Leah Hamilton.
